Japan, Taiwan and the Zoo!

My brother ,Leonard, is going Japan end of this month for a week. No fair. All expenses paid. Double NO FAIR! Going with the national softball team, that's why free. Sigh, perks for playing for the nation I guess. You sell your life and soul and in return you get to go to Japan. I told him to buy me stuff back from Japan, or else don't come back at all. Heh..

I haven't been to the zoo in a while. Since poly Year 2 I think, when I went with Neeta, Vic, Saiful, Guang and Jensen. Hmmm, did I leave anyone out? Anyway, I'm going again today after work! Yay! I love going to the zoo, no matter what other people say. The animals are not depressed; yes it's hot but hey, it's Singapore!; and I don't care that you have to walk everywhere, it's all part of the fun! I'm looking forward to it. Hehe. Anyway, its free, cos I've got complimentary tickets. Haha!

Dirty Dancing Bibik

This sucks. I have to work on a weekend. This is just wrong. Worse of all, I have to work alone. One colleague on leave for the weekend, another one on MC since Fri till Mon. Which leaves me working with only one more colleague. And I don't see much of him cos one has to cover the morning shift from 7-3pm, and the other from 2-10pm. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing that I don't see him much since he irritates the shit out of me. Its just that it get really boring and cold working alone in the gym. I got sooooo bored that I started cleaning the machines extremely thoroughly! Which is madness cos I don't usually do that! And now my left knee hurts again cos I knelt down for too long while cleaning. Ok ok, I admit, I just wanna bitch in this entry. Too bored laa.. Haha.

On a lighter note, went to look for Daniel yesterday after work cos he was also in the area working. At the Singapore Art Museum. He was the photographer for his god-brother's weding. Didn't want to go at first cos I was... Shy. Hah.. Didn't want to disturb him also. But he eventually persuaded me that it was alright and all and that he even asked his god-bro who was cool with it. So I went over after work abeit somewhat reluctantly. Was hanging out with him in the courtyard at first, but got spotted by his mum and friends who demanded that I go in and join them. *Oh noo* I wanted to run away sia! So paiseh.. But it was ok, cos they were really nice to me and mainly cos the bibiks(almost all the wedding guests were peranakans) at the table were all kinda high on alcohol and it was absolutely hilarious to watch them! All singing along to the songs(retro) at the top of their voices and cracking dirty jokes and dancing all over the place. Absolute chaos. But total FUN. Didn't know weddings could be this crazy. Definately not the typical chinese weddings that I'm used to. It got to the point where the groom and one of the bibiks were standing on our table and dancing dirty!!! Such fun. Haha. This is how weddings should be like.

11:10 p.m. - Thursday, Sept. 21, 2006

Went diving over the weekend to Pulau Aur. Went with the NUS diving committee cos I have some friends who are on the dive comm.. Well, overall, the trip definately could have been better. But oh well, no use harping over past matters. You pay for what you get I guess. What matters most is that I finally got to dive again. Yay! Got comfortable with the equipment and being in the water again pretty quickly. My bouyancy is still near perfect. Hehe. Shameless abit laa. Haha. Only downside was that it is spawning season for the jellyfishes now. The first dive, once we jumped into the water, first thing we noticed is.. JELLYFISHES! Hundreds of baby jellyfishes! Which is soooooooooooo not funny. As we were all wearing full wetsuits that came up to our wrists, but leaving our hands unprotected. So what we did was stick our hands up in the air like we were surrendering while waiting for the rest to get into the water. Which was quite a funny sight in retrospect. So from that dive onwards, we encountered jellyfishes on every dive, which resulted in us getting stung alot. I got off light, I only got a few stings on my hands and one on my lip which healed pretty quick. The rest got stung on the face, mouth, body, legs.. pretty much everywhere. Lucky me. Haha. But I sprained/strained my back though. Carrying the heavy dive bag and equipments probably caused it. Oh well, one of the perils of diving, other than stingrays. Haha! Well.. Pics from diving.

Went for SMELLY TOUFU! Actually doesn't smell that bad, or maybe cos we were sitting outdoors. Haha. But it was reallllly good. Delicious in fact, once you get over the smell(which isn't very strong). Had fried dumplings also. I love dumplings of any kind. Absolutely delicious. =D In fact, I just had fried dumplings for dinner! I'm hungry again.

I'm excited and happy. You know why?? Cos..... I'm going diving, I'm going diving, I'm going D.I.V.I.N.G!!! Heh heh heh... Don't miss me too much people. Cos I know you will! I'll try and miss you guys too.. Lol. But there's only one that I'll really miss. *winks* I've got a feeling that I'll get stopped by the police alot today. I've got my huge black diving bag that I've brought to work, and I've got to take the MRT later to get to the meeting point. Sure kanna stopped. And if they mess up my dive equipments.. I don't care whether they are police or not, I'll scream at them! Haha. Ok la, maybe not if they holding their big bad guns.. Lol.. Alright, see you all when I get back! *muacks!*

I am irritated by my template. I can't seem to find a suitable nice PURPLE one. Hehe.. I think if I still can't find a nice soon in the next few weeks, I'll just go back to using the templates provided by Diaryland, till a suitable one is found or made by some kind soul for me. *hint hint* Lol.

I'm not sure why, but recently everyone seems to be coming up to me in and out of the gym and telling me that Steve Irwin has passed away. They all seem to think that its something that I should know, even though it has been all over the news and I couldn't possibly miss it. Even till now, I have members coming up to me and telling me that Steve Irwin died. YES. I KNOW THAT THE POOR BUGGER IS DEAD. AND I'M SORRY THAT HE DIED. BUT STOP TELLING ME ABOUT IT BEFORE I SEND ONE OF YOU TO JOIN HIM! I swear, at least 20 people has told me about it. I'm starting to get irritated. =P Ok ok, I know.. I need to chill. Trying to! Haha. I think its because they know that I dive, maybe that's why they all think I should know about it. Ok, thanks for the concern and all.. But I don't think I will be that unlucky (or should I say lucky?) to encounter such a large stingray. Which reminds me again. Diving trip is getting nearer!! Yippie! I so excited thinking about it that I'm getting goosebumps. Hehe.

Been awhile since the last update.. Hmmm, usual things, went clubbing, drinking, suppers and not doing any of my workouts since I've usually pooped from all the above activities. Haha. Noticed that I gained weight too. Ugh. I need to run again. Sigh.

Happy news! Getting new uniforms! YAY! Been waiting sooooo long for it. And I'm tired of wearing white and black. Like I'm going for a blardy funeral. Choi.. Touch wood, but you know what I mean. Heard that we're each gonna get 3 sets of uniform each. Top consisting of a sleeveless running top, bottom is tight track pants, the nice sort, like from nike and adidias. Lol. And a jacket for each of us too!! Happy happy! But it takes about a month for everything to be approved and stuff, so I guess only in mid September will we get it. But still.. Yay! No more white tops! Oh JOy!

Rage explained

Alright. I've calmed down from today's rage episode. The day actually started out alright. Nifal(my colleague) even commented that I was in a good mood today. And I was! Things were going well.. Until the workshop started at 7pm. There was is workshop held in the gym today, on the usage and benefits of one of the new equipments. I obviously had to attend, of else I wouldn't know how to use it if members ever asked me. But before that, I had already made sure that there were were sufficient clean towels on the shelf and enough fruits in the basket, with it being fruits friday and all and me working alone at that time.. So of course I was concentrating on the workshop, and didn't really notice that the gym was getting abit more crowded. Suddenly, this lady member ran into the stretching room and sorta shouted at me, "Eh Lavina, outside no towels already! Members complaining already you know!" And she did this in front of all the other members attending the workshop, in front of my boss and in front of the committee member. She couldn't have just come up to me since I was very near the doorway and told me this, she had to shout this out to everyone. So never mind, I said sorry to her, then ran out to see how the situation was. What I found was 2 members without towels, and one of them wasn't her. I got out the clean towels and appologized to the 2 members, they were nice and understanding enough and told me that it was alright. I looked up and saw THAT lady member on the cross trainer and when she saw me, glared at me and went back to watching TV. NAH BEI!!! I got sooooo pissed. But I told myself that I had to chill.

I managed to calm myself down. Until another part time trainer told me that THAT lady member was grumbling and scolding together with another of her kakis about there being no towels and no fruits refills. And by then I had already refilled everything. Then I heard something and saw them talking about this in front of the counter. LOUDLY. It was sooo obvious that it was meant for me to hear. I got pissed again. I hate it when people do that, if they have something that they are not happy about, they should say it straight to my face, and not stand around gossiping or talking behind my back. I was obviously not happy about it already, my face turned black and my eyes shot daggers, according to that part time trainer, and I was pretty sure that the 2 complaining members saw it, cos they shut up and moved away. Later, maybe they realized they were too bitchy or whatever was going through those airheads of theirs, they smiled at me when I walked past them, tried to joke with me and all. So of course I humored them, afterall, it is my ricebowl. But the smiles never reached my eyes, the laughters were forced.

I told a friend about this, he told me that I needed to chill. I know I do, but its quite impossible for me when its not exactly my fault at all. I mean, there's only one of me, and there's only so much I can do. I think the trainers that left before me have spoilt some of the members here. They seem to think that we, the trainers, have to stand by the door and greet them when they come in, personally get the towels and give it to them, guide them through every step of the workout and basically be at their beck and call, ready to spring to their aid at anytime. Siao ah! I am not your servant, if you want someone like that, set up your own gym and hire someone who is willing to do that! Cos I am not! My friend also said that maybe it is cos I am the only female trainer, and since I am the only female, I naturally get more attention just because I am more outstanding. And some of the older lady members will get bitchy about this. Come on la! Not as if I asked to be the only female one right!! I actually even asked my boss if he could bring in another female trainer! But in the end he got another male trainer. So it is not my fault I am the only femlae trainer. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Sigh. This is such an angry post. So much angry vibes coming from it. I need to chill. Lucky my off day is coming.

Hmmmmm... Or maybe I just have something against short, fat, ugly, old and gossipy female members. Heh heh..

Saturday was Gretchen's birthday party at Macdonalds! Haven't been to a Macdonald's party since... Hmmm, mine 14 years ago! Lol. Met Adeline earlier in the day to shop for her present. Was late.. Oops! =P Adeline was wearing a dress! I almost fainted with shock. Sorry babe, I know you still love me right? Haha! Ahhhh, retail therapy is good for you. Haha. Bought some stuff for myself, saw even more stuff that I wanted to buy. Oh no. A pair of butterfly earrings that costs almost $30! But I like it sooooooo much! Still thinking if I should get it.

Went back to work for a while even though it was my off day. Bleah. No, I wasn't being hard working, I had no choice. The new guy was doing the afternoon shift alone and I had to make sure he knew what to do. So I sneaked Adeline into the club, even though I wasn't supposed to. Shhhhh!! No one tell anyone! Haha. I left her sitting comfortably outside the gym while I settled my stuff. After that, brought her on a mini tour of the club. Bought drinks and once outside, saw that there was a rugby match in progress.. Curious(me) and wanting to check out guys(Adeline. Hehe!), we walked towards the padang. There I noticed that SRC was playing against SCC, so I pointed out to her players that I knew from SRC. She noticed a cute guy that I didn't know, and I got scolded for it. Haha! Ehhh, Adeline, you very bad leh, not my fault what. AHah. Ok la, yes, I agree that he's quite cute. Haha! Then we headed towards some empty benches and sat there gossiping and watching the game, with me cringing every other moment and her cheering every other moment. Such a violent game, even more so when people you know is playing! I couldn't bear to watch, Adeline found it exciting. Such a sadist. Haha. But it felt really really nice just sitting there talking and feeling the sun on our faces. I think it may become our new favourite past time. Hehe! Of course, the company was great too.. Lol.

Gret's party was small, but she was sooo busy! Running here and there.. But she looked great. =) Her birthday cake was 2 tier! Wahhhhh! But I didn't get to eat it cos I had to rush off to another friend's birthday, in Pasir Ris! *faints* Hope you liked the presents and had a great time babe!! Happy 21st Birthday Gretchen! Rushed down to Jian Hong's party at Downtown East as soon as Gret was done cutting the cake. Got there just in time to sing his birthday song and see him cutting his cake. But this time round, at least I got to eat the birthday cake.. HEhe! Stayed awhile, eat quite abit of his food, played card games, did the usual chalet stuff. That's it! Its proven. Being late for work can make you move at the speed of light. Maybe even faster. I think I did this morning. With all the superhero movies going around now, I think I stand a chance to be the star of the next one. I can be the female version of Flash! And how would I convince the producers and directors that I would make a good lead? Send them a tape of me zipping around my room in the morning when I'm late for work. They would be so impressed with my speed that they would fly down straight from Hollywood and beg me to star in this movie. They would pamper me and indulge me and I would become the world's most famous star. Hehe..
Alright alright, back to reality. Late this morning. Woke at 7. Was supposed to be at work at 7. Shit man. Didn't pack my bag the previous night, so even more time wasted. I don't know how I did it, but I managed to wash up, dress, pack my bag, grab some food and was out of the house in a record breaking 5 minutes. I'm amazed myself. The fastest time previously was maybe 8 minutes, but now.. Wow. *Rendered speechless* Reached the club at 7.30am. I made the taxi uncle drive like a mad man. Haha. Luckily it's a PH with clear roads, or else, I wouldn't have managed so reach so fast. I think this is maybe my hidden talent, everyone has one, I seriously think this is mine.. =D

Now that Neeta and Pam is in Aussie, clubbing doesn't seem so fun anymore.. Lol. Went out clubbing the night before Pam flew off. Had such a blast! What a great way to end off your last day in Singapore Pam.. Being the cheapos that we are(lol), we headed to Obar first to drink ourself silly, then to MOS for some RnB groovin. I wasn't sure if it was under the influence of alcohol or we were just plain crazy that night, but lotsa cracked up things happened. New dance moves invented, new jokes cracked, but most importantly, new memories shared. =)
